Our May main film will be Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool...
Based on Peter Turner's memoir, the film follows the playful but passionate relationship between Turner (Bell) and the eccentric actress Gloria Grahame (Bening) in 1978 Liverpool. What starts as a vibrant affair between a legendary femme fatale and her young lover quickly grows into a deeper relationship, with Turner being the person Gloria turns to for comfort. Their passion and lust for life is tested to the limits by events beyond their control.
'The bravura performance of Annette Bening, as late, great femme fatale Gloria Grahame, is the main reason to see it.' John Urbanchic, Your Movies
'It's really Bening and Bell who sell this; Bening is especially good, calibrating Grahame's magnetic presence with her crippling vulnerability.' Al Hoff, Pitsburgh City Paper
Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s, and are available online now or in advance from Watts Trading or on the door if not already sold out.
