Our January main film will be The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

Based on the novel by Mary Ann Shaffer, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a romantic drama set on the eponymous Channel Island in 1946. Author Juliet, played by Lily James, has come from London to research an article for the Times Literary Supplement. She is drawn into island life and slowly uncovers painful stories of Guernsey’s occupation by the Germans during World War II while slowly falling for a local beau. You’ll be pleased to know she also finds out the reason for the outlandish title of the local book club.

“Lily James dominates, juggling empathetic warmth and restless conflict with real poise, and the ensemble support is consistently good” Matthew Norman, Evening Standard

Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s, and are available online now or in advance from Watts Trading or on the door if not already sold out.
